Join us as we celebrate our 2024 Recipient of the Alfred J. Gomes Community Service Award from Bridgewater State University, Joanna Edwards, '07! This award is presented to a distinguished African American alumnus/na who exemplifies the ideal of “men and women for and with others.” The recipient should show a genuine dedication to the ideals of social justice, and relations with the greater community, and empower peers to serve and/or increase awareness of injustice.
Joanna Edwards has dedicated the past 15 years to advocating for patients, crime victims, and others in her community. Nine years ago, she expanded her focus to real estate after purchasing her first investment property and co-founding Thumbprint Realty with her husband. Her passion for the industry grew quickly, fueled by her love for the work and her natural ability to connect with others. Today, Joanna thrives as a "mompreneur," balancing her roles as a wife, mother, investor, real estate agent, and founder of the nonprofit Thumbprint Cares. She also operates two successful Airbnb vacation rentals, showcasing her dynamic and multifaceted approach to both business and life.
